Koh Samui weather has been has been pleasent the last few weeks .Over the past week the weather has been hitting the all the news stations across Thailand and probably the world, because of the heavy rain. The death toll has risen to seven people as the Central and Northern parts of Thailand are hit by huge floods. Although we are now in the rainy season some places handle the rainfall very well and other places do not. Here in Koh Samui, after a big down pour the roads around Samui suffer. And it can be very difficult to get around, especially on a motorbike.
But I have to mention that the big resorts on the Island cope with these sudden down pours very well. Koh Samui weather really does get away with allot of the heavy rain. Reason being, its an Island and the weather system of Thailand and its rainy season struggles to make a big impact on Koh Samui. An Island with water all round it seems to fight back at the weather system creating its own unique weather patterns. Yes we get rain here in Samui, and sometimes very bad, but most of the time it drops a good amount of water then brightens up for the rest of the day. Many times we see the rains hit us hard and then bright sun and blue sky is upon us. So where ever you maybe in Thailand, Samui weather always has some great sunshine for its beautiful beaches.
