Here are some airline companies that operate within Thailand.

Bangkok airways and Thai Airways are the only airlines that fly to Koh Samui. Alternative to Bangkok air is to fly directly to Surathani airport from Bangkok and normally half the price to flying directly to Samui.
Once you have arrived in Surrathnai you need to get to the port and go the rest of the way by boat, which normally works out a lot cheaper alltogether than the direct route, but it takes longer.See Ferries
