A: Taxis and Sonqthaews (public red taxi buses) continue to work until around 2:00am but the prices go up at night by a small amount.

Q. Is the drinking water safe?
A: All restaurants and almost all the little roadside stands serve bottled water and clean factory-made ice cubes. We dont advise you to drink the tap water. See Safety

Q. Why are there so many dogs on Samui?
A: There are wild dogs around Koh Samui and have been breeding uncontrolled for years. An organized effort has been in place for a while now to treat the sick ones, and to control the population.Good progress is being made.However if you are bitten, see a doctor immediately.

Q. I have a severe case of diarrhea. Could it be serious?
A: Most likely not, however a visit to a doctor or a clinic is the correct thing to do, if only to reassure yourself. They can prescribe effective medication that will ease your discomfort within hours.Drink plenty of fluids.

Q. What should I do if I have an accident?
A: Call the tourist police immediately, if any witnesses, try to get them to remain there until the police arrive. See Emergency numbers
