Where should you stay on Koh Samui.
The Island has four big resort areas to choose from to book your accommodation with Chaweng being the biggest resort on the longest beach and lots of great accommodation ranging from low budget right up to five star luxury. The next town which is further South of Chaweng is Lamai another big resort with a lot of budget accommodation. Other great areas is Choengmon in the North of Koh Samui, with a fabulous beach, this resort is smaller but is only fifteen minutes away from he main town Chaweng.
Further West is Big Buddha, Bang Rak and Bophut all are small resorts and have plenty of hotels and beach bungalows next to beaches. Maenam is another big town , not so much a resort, but has plenty of restaurants and shops for any tourist. Maenam has a good selection of unique resorts and hotels. Chaweng the main town and resort of Koh Samui this resort sits on the East side of Koh Samui and Chaweng has the longest beach on the Island. This resort has a selection of everything for a perfect holiday. Town is made up of restaurants, shops, night clubs and hundreds of hotels, bungalows and spa resorts to suit all people.

Lamai is another resort located next a beach.Its has a great range of hotels, beach bungalows and luxury spa resorts. Lamai has alot of shops, nightlife, restaurants and bars an ideal place to have a vacation. Lamai seems to be a little cheaper than Chaweng. The beach is fairly long and has quite a few resorts along it.

Bophut also known as fisherman village, because it started as small fishing village and slowly grew in what is today. A small village with some great resataurants and shops. This little vilage is located on a large beach and has a fair amount of decent quality accommodation.

Big Buddha is a large buddha statue in a temple located near a beautiful beach called Big Buddha beach. The area is called Bang Rak and has alot of restaurants, bars and small clubs. This little town has large selcetion of accommodation.

Meanam is a large village with a large selection of shops, markets , bars and restaurants. Again located next to a beach this area has a long list of hotels and beach bungalows. Maenam is more of a local Thai village although they welcome to tourist.

Choengmon is a small tourist village based around a beautiful beach. This village has a nice selection of hotels and beach bungalows. One of the nicest places to stay in Koh Samui.
