Islands in the Surrathani Province, Gulf of Thailand
Sister Island to Koh Samui, about 168 square kilometre's and it is located 700 km south of Bangkok in the Surat Thani province and about 15 kilometres's from Koh Samui.
The Island's inland consists of mainly dense jungle's and mountains, and the shoreline is made up of countless palm-fringed beaches and bays.Light bright blue seas surround the Island to make this Island another true paradise.Coconuts are still produced and exported from Phangan which is important to the growth the tourist and fishing industries.
This Island is a lot quieter than Koh Samui and not aswell established.The roads around the Island are mainly dirt roads and can be quite difficult to use after or during heavy rains, not recommended on a motorbike unless you know what you are doing.
