Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) which means 'Universal Life Force Energy'. It's a method of natural healing based on the application of Universal Life Force Energy.
Reiki has become one of the more widely known forms of energy healing.
Reiki' is an Eastern therapy that does not claim to cure any specific disease. It helps the body Mind and Spirit to heal itself using the 'Universal Life Force' (called 'Reiki in this form of healing) that is not obtained by developing life force or ki, nor from another person, but rarther is a method through which a practitioner acts as a channel to connect another person with the universal healing or life force.
Reiki can help to promote a more positive appraoch to life and may help treat stress-related problems and anxiety, depression, headaches, migraine and stress.
History
Reiki is a spiritual healing discipline which its founder, Japanese theologian Dr. Mikao Usui, thought was once part of Tibetan Buddhism. In the 19th century, he spent fourteen years seeking the secrets of healing, and finally found information about reiki in Sanskrit texts. After he fasted and meditated for 21 days on top of a Japanese mountain, a vision showed him their meaning.
